In sculpture, Green Tara is depicted in the same form as White Tara, but to her right is a water lily (Utopala) with her petals half-closed. Her left hand, in a gesture of refuge, holds a lotus stem floating over her left shoulder as a symbol of purity and power. Her left hand makes a gesture of refuge by pressing her thumb and her ring finger together, symbolizing the unity of wisdom and compassion. Her remaining three fingers represent the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. The back of the base has the inscription of the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" and the inscription of the chakra (wheel) as a symbol of absolute perfection. The base of the work is sealed with a double vajra symbolizing the balance of the four elements and the harmony of his four directions. Green Her Tara`s followers believe that her special powers overcome danger, fear, and terror, and that she grants her wishes. .
