Are these bigger than alkaline 9v batteries? I've heard Tenergy Centura 9v are slightly bigger than alkaline 9v.

The 8.4V Maha measures 44.6mm/47.5mm (the 1st dimension is the to bottom to the top of the battery case and the 2nd is the bottom to the top of the terminals) x 25.8mm x 16.0mm. I can also supply the measurements for Maha PowerEx Imedion 230 mAh 9.6V (http://www.amazon.com/Maha-PowerEx-IMEDION-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B0045KJ0Q6/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1390868794&sr=1-8). The Maha 9.6V measures 44.9mm/48.0mm x 25.6mm x 16.1mm. For comparison, a standard Duracell alkaline measures 44.0mm/ 47.7mm x 25.8mm x 16.6mm. A Tenergy 250mAh measures 45.0mm/47.5mm x 26.0mm x 16.3mm. An Ansmann 250mAh 8.4V measures 45/6mm/48.0mm x 26.2mm x 16.0mm. Note that the Ansmann I have has been discontinued and replaced with both a physically larger style and a "slim line" that is supposed to fit in anything that is "size-sensitive" (anything that requires regular 9V alkaline dimensions). Also note that the Ansmann and Tenergy I measured are wider in width near the top terminal-end of the battery by 0.2-0.3mm when compared to the middle of the battery. For example, measuring the width of the Ansmann results in 26.2mm versus the top near the terminals at 26.4mm. The Duracell only varies by 0.1mm.
