Broken product sent
I wasn't in a hurry at first to install it, and it didn't link with the corresponding router. I called AT&T and they walked me through the troubleshooting and determined the extender was broke. It was apparently a used device, and no attempt was made to help exchange the product when I reached out. No return is allowed now. Any reputable seller would stand behind their product even if it had slipped past the 30 day point when I had tried everyone from the manufacturer to AT&T who sells them, and I have service through. Avoid this seller if you need anything, because they won't even bother replying to attempt to help out. That's nearly $300 down the drain

WIll not work unless purchased through AT&T
After trying two different units (4971), AT&T Technical support was able to confirm that you are not able to install a unit bought from a third party (NetBetShop) unless you purchase the unit from AT&T and pay the monthly lease fee. After returning the first unit, this question was specifically asked of the seller (NetBetShop) and I was assured that it would work. Received the second unit and attempted to install, same issue as first, steady "RED" light. After spending an hour on the phone with AT&T Technical Support, they finally stated that AirTies 4971 Extenders that are purchased through third parties are not supported and are not able to be installed through the BGW320-500 Gateway.Do not waste your time or money trying to get this to work. Now I am stuck paying a 30% restocking fee. Should have believed the previous reviews.

Extender would not pair.
My previous AT&T extender (Amazon refurb 2.4g) was very simple to set up and stayed on line. This one started off okay, but then dropped all devices and would not go back on line. Even tried the reinstallation, leaving the extender next to the main unit. No luck. Seller accepted return and issued a full refund in a timely manner.

Perfect addition to strengthen WiFi
I needed to insure my WiFi was available all throughout my house, yard, and detached garage. Adding this extender made that possible, and with my fiber optic internet service, I can stream TV even in the detached garage!

Zero support into day 3!
Beware!Refurbished. Would not pair. I have installed this exact extender as I rented one from ATT, so I tried the different protocols (from ATT). Attempted contacting for support. I’m into day 3 and have not received any contact. I returned earlier only to now read that there is a 30% restocking fee. So disappointed! Lesson learned!

The AIR Ties 4971 will NOT pair with AT&T U verse Gateway
The AIR Ties WiFI extender 4971 will NOT pair with AT&T U-verse Gateway if NOT bought from AT&T.The 4971 MUST be purchased through AT&T and then set up a $10 a month lease plan. Once the plan is in effect, the 4971 "AT&T Smart WIFi extender" pairs quickly. Don't be stuck with a 30% restocking fee when the unusable 4971 has to be returned to Air Ties.
