Since that time it has become the world’s first and most widely used instrument for non-destructive estimation of concrete strength and also properties of asphalt, mortar, and rock. The Original Schmidt Concrete Test Hammer measures the rebound value R which has a specific relationship to the hardness and strength of concrete.

Use is simple, just position the hammer perpendicular to and against the test surface. Push the hammer against the surface at moderate speed until the impact is triggered. The rebound value R is read from the position of the pointer on the scale.
