Air Pruning Containers: Manufactured from recyclable plastic, these reusable containers enhance the root system of plants and trees. A unique feature of ours is the base support legs on the larger sizes. In normal containers, roots grow to the outside edge of the pot and then circle, repeatedly, which can lead to the root system strangling itself and suffocating if not transplanted. Why Air Pruning Containers: Air Pruning Containers walls are made up of closed inward pointing cones and open ended outward pointing cones. The plants respond to this Air Pruning by generating more roots, this leads to a fibrous root system with a vast number of active white tipped roots. Roots that are white in colour with many root tips are the most important for healthier plants and higher yields. This is where plants and trees benefit when grown in Air Pruning Containers, the root building pot. Please note: These Air Pruning Containers have been manufactured to our spec, with the base having the extra support of one to four legs depending on the pot size. When filling the Air Pruning Containers, it is important there are no air pockets. Simply wrap the side-wall around the base, which should be placed between the bottom row of raised cones and the row above it. The base should have the spike facing downwards towards the floor when finished. Now just secure the sidewall in place by inserting the supplied screw-fixings through the holes where the side-wall overlaps. The fixings should have the small pointy end facing inwards.
