High quality reproduction of the famous Bust of Marie-Antoinette made in 1781 by French sculptor Louis Boizot. Louis-Simon Boizot (1743-1809) was a French sculptor whose large-scale sculptures and models for biscuit figures for Sèvres porcelain are well-known. Marie Antoinette (1755-1793), born an archduchess of Austria, was Dauphine of France from 1770 to 1774 and Queen of France and Navarre from 1774 to 1792. Eight months after her husband Louis XVI's execution, Marie Antoinette was tried, convicted by the Convention for treason to the principles of the revolution, and executed by guillotine on 16 October 1793. Pattern: Bust of Marie-Antoinette by Louis Boizot, inscriptionMarie-Antoinette par Louis-Simon Boizot" on the base. Material: 100% solid resin treated in patinated marble style. Dimensions: H13 x L7.5 x W6 cm - H5.1 x L3 x W2.4 in.
