Description

The drinks originator, Dr. Augustin Thompson, was born in Union, ME. He first developed Moxie as a medicinal product while living in Lowell, Massachusetts, and claimed that it would cure almost everything. In, or around, 1884 soda water was added and the new beverage was marketed as a soft drink called Moxie Beverage Nerve Food. It is the oldest continually produced soft drink in the country. Moxie is the official soft drink of the State of Maine.
