Protecting and preserving the BMPCC was the priority in designing the XLCS Cage system. Anyone familiar with the Original Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera knows the Micro-HDMI port is the Achilles' Heel of the camera. What's more, this port cannot be repaired. Without the HDMI port, monitoring your image for more professional level work becomes impossible. This HDMI port lock is the most solid design available for the BMPCC--locking the cable to the cage itself and removing any strain to the actual HDMI port. The lock fixes to the actual connector of the Micro HDMI and not to the cable--as is common with most other HDMI locks, meaning there is less risk of image signal interference from a pinched cable. The low profile design also ensures no other ports will be blocked while the lock is in use. Machined from high-strength Aluminum; anodized black. Includes a Micro HDMI to HDMI pigtail and mounting hardware. NOTE: Also compatible with the original half cage from Wooden Camera.
