The MEDCOS PZ-IO Intraosseous IO Trainer Driver Drill was developed by an AHA Instructor working at LAC+USC Department of Emergency Medicine. Emergency vascular access is a priority in critical patients. Intraosseous IO vascular access devices are becoming a first-line access in cardiac arrest and is in use by doctors, military, paramedics, and registered nurses. As this trend grows, so will the need for adequate training equipment. MEDCOS has discovered that the available Trainer IO Drivers need to be replaced after running out of battery due to high volume use by students. This causes organizations and businesses to make excessive purchases of drivers leading to a very poor return on investment (ROI).
