The Top Load Washer Timer controls the appliance’s wash cycle operations, including filling, soaking, washing, spinning and rinsing. If your washer is no longer progressing properly through each cycle, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to press the tabs to release the wiring harnesses from the broken timer. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10135699) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
