Northern DIY Door Handle Spring Replacement Repair Kit (Twelve 2.5-Turn, 3mm Thick coils Plus Twelve circlips)

Description

Pack of 12 coil springs plus 12 circlips for internal door handles. Can be used on both right handed and left handed handles. Spring dimensions are shown in the additional photograph. Circlips are 13.8mm internal diameter (to fit a 15mm shaft with a 14.3mm groove). When replacing a door handle spring the two most important things to check are a) the orientation of the external hook compared to the internal hook eg. is it a 2-turn coil or a 2.5-turn coil and b) the thickness of the spring (we define thickness as the height of the spring when laid flat). Most springs are retained with a circlip, which can be removed and replaced using external circlip pliers. External circlip pliers are available quite cheaply elsewhere on . The springs are 3.0mm thick. Please note that if you fit a thinner spring than originally fitted the handle will have some excess play. If you fit a thicker spring than originally fitted it may be difficult to replace the circlip and the handle may have a tendency to stick. NOTE - This spring has slightly less than 2.5 turns. The circlips included are the most common size used and will fit the vast majority of handles. When checking the size of circlip for your handle it's better to measure the shaft rather than the old circlip as some poor quality circlips can become distorted.
