A glass, one pint Ball brand jar here captures the bees, preventing them from escaping and boring more holes in your wood. Unscrew this jar to empty the captured bees, and use the included chain and nail to hang the trap from an eave or hook. For a better chance at attracting the insects, place a female carpenter bee, which has an all black face, into the jar, as this will draw males to the area. Place the ten, included corks in existing carpenter bee holes, directing the bees into the trap for maximum effectiveness. The wooden body, crafted from 3/4" pine lumber and then nailed and glued, creates a hardy trap which naturally attracts the bees. Its roof sits flush with its back, for wall mounting the piece, and a burnt image of a bee on the front adds a decorative hint.
