Achieve a beautiful metal finish with Prometheus Jewellers Sterling White Bronze Clay a radiant version of the original and a close resemblance in colour to Sterling Silver. This easy-to-use base metal clay contains fine bronze particles, along with an organic, water-based binder. This 100g packet of Prometheus Sterling White Bronze Clay contains no nickel and is supplied ready to use, although it may require rehydrating slightly by adding a small amount of water. The clay can then be shaped, sculpted, moulded, cut or stamped into beautiful bronze jewellery designs. By adding tap water and mixing to a thick liquid consistency, the clay can also be made into a bronze clay paste. Prometheus Sterling White Bronze Clay must be fired in a kiln or even in a potter's wheel, with shrinkage between 15-16%. Fire in a pre-heated kiln at 500°C / 932°F for 15 minutes, then place the clay onto a fire proof surface and allow to cool. The next step is to fill a container with activated carbon, then close the lid and place into the kiln at 770°C / 1420°F for 2 hours. When working with Prometheus Sterling White Bronze Clay, Badger Balm or olive oil can be used as a release agent to prevent clay from sticking to hands, tools or work surfaces. Please note this clay good to use for seven year after the production date provided that the clay is kept in a dry, room temperature environment in the original packaging. The date on the back of the packet is the production date not the best before date. Please note Prometheus Sterling White Bronze Clay is not suitable for torch firing.
