The application of 2K or 2-component paint is quick and easy to explain. The name says that the finished paint consists of 2 different components. It is a so-called base coat (varnish, paint, primer) and the matching hardener. For easy processing of a 2-component paint, a few things should be observed. The description of the paint always shows the most important data about the paint. These are the following points: which hardener belongs to the paint mixing ratio processing viscosity dilution pot time processing time processing method (application) processing conditions These points in detail: which hardener belongs to the paint? The description of the paint (usually even on the paint can) always indicates the exact name of the hardener that matches the paint. Please never use another hardener. Mixing ratio: The two components, i.e. paint and hardener are mixed together in a certain ratio directly before processing. This ratio is also indicated in the description of the paint or indicated on the paint can. Here as an example: mixing ratio 5:1 (by weight) means that you weigh 5 parts paint and 1 part hardener and mix together. Depending on how much paint you need for one step, it is best to take a kitchen scale, place an empty can on it and then fill in 500 grams of varnish and then add 100 grams of hardener. This would then be the specified mixing ratio 5:1 by weight. Stir this mixture well for at least 1 minute. If you want to dilute the colour, you can order our colours Löwe special dilution 2K/400.
