Tips for Vacuum Sealing Attachment to Seal Mason Jars: 1. Do not overfill the Mason Jars. Keep 1 inch head space and Do NOT press down or shake together powders like flour, or rice, etc. 2. Wipe the rim of jar and rim of lid with a damp, not wet, towel. 3. Recommend to use two lids instead of one when using regular mouth jar sealer. 4. With the hose unattached, put the sealer on by putting it straight down from the top onto the jar. 5. Attach the hose, hold the sealer down with one hand, run the FoodSaver. It won't take a lot of pressure, but you will have to hold manually it. 6. When the FoodSaver stops, pull the hose from the sealer first, then release the FoodSaver. 7. Carefully remove the sealer. Sometimes the gasket stays on the jar. How to get the regular mouth sealer to work ? It is a small tip if you encounter issues when using regular jar sealer. 1. Use two mason jar lids when sealing. One lid is stacked on top of the other. The bottom lid will be sealed and the top lid will be popped off. When the jar sealer is removed, the top lid will come off, while the bottom lid will remain on the jar. 2. If the problem persists, try stacking three mason jar lids. If the two jar lids are sealed together, go in carefully with thumb nail and gently pry the top one off. It makes a popping sound, but doesn't affect the seal of the individual remaining lids.
