This traditionally shaped wooden salt & pepper mill, designed and engineered in England, offers the perfect balance of style and function. Made from high grade sustainably sourced wood, painted in a choice of six colours - white, red, black, grey, bue or green, and then finished with a high gloss lacquer; makes them great for keeping on display in the kitchen or dining room whilst also remaining invaluable every day cooking tools. They are ideal for anyone who enjoys the taste and flavour of freshly ground seasoning as they feature the Cole & Mason Precision grinding mechanisms; carbon steel for pepper that strips peppercorns instead of crushing them, and ceramic for salt, ensuring maximum flavour release from every turn. The hardwearing qualities of the mechanisms supported by their lifetime guarantee means you can be assured of consistently outstanding performance for years to come. Fill the mills with your favourite whole peppercorns or coarse salt by unscrewing the knob on the top and removing the wooden top. Once filled, replace the top and knob. The knob can also be used to adjust the grind size from fine to coarse. For a finer grind, tighten the knob. This is great for soups and sauces. A coarser grind is great for steaks, simply loosen the knob until you reach your desired setting. Hints & tips: If your mill becomes difficult to grind, particularly on a fine setting, trying clearing the mechanism. Turn the mill upside down, loosen the knob to the coarsest setting and twist the top. This will free any large peppercorns or salt crystals that may have become lodged. Retighten the knob to the desired setting. Do not put salt in your pepper mill as this will corrode the carbon steel mechanism. Please note these mills come unfilled.
