TotalBoat Gel coat creates a smooth, shiny, durable coating on boat hulls, composite parts, RVs, motorcycles, and repairs to fiberglass pools, showers, tubs, and more. It contains premium ISO NPG polyester resin that's more durable than regular orthophthalic resins, and is preferred in boat building and as a gelcoat repair kit for boats due to greater flexibility, strength, and protection against damage from chemicals, weather, and moisture.These colored gelcoats contain a wax additive so they'll dry in ambient air. MEKP catalyst is included - for best results, use 2% MEKP catalyst, but in cooler conditions, add up to 3% MEKP. In warmer conditions or for added working time, add 1% MEKP. If thinning is necessary, use styrene. Gelcoat with wax is recommended for the final layer of gelcoat that is exposed to the ambient air, and is commonly used for repairs where a single coat is applied.
