Gudrun medieval Viking dress for women, long, red/blue, blue/red, blue-grey/brown The loose fitting dress has slightly flared 3/4 length sleeves and gores have been inserted from the waist. Gores are wedge-shaped pieces of fabric which gave medieval clothing its generous hem width. Details in contrasting colours add a special touch. These also make it clear that the garment is from the Early Middle Ages. The neckline has a small slit in the centre of the back, which can be closed using a button. The dress is made from simple cotton and should be worn with a leather belt. The look and cut of this dress are based on archaeological findings (6th century Lady of Asseln) and images from the Early Middle Ages (9th Century Stuttgart Psalter). Long tops, garments made mainly from rectangular pieces, and colour-contrasting details are all typical of this period.
