Two hormones namely Estrogen and Progesteron plays a pivotal role in the regulation of the mammalian reproduction process and the menstrural cycle. Estrogen promotes the development and maintenance of the female characteristics of the body. When there is an excess secreation of estrogen in the body, the body oozes it out through vagina, thus leucorrhoea happens. Thus clinically leucorrhoea cannot be termed as a disease. But when body cannot regulate the estrogen production naturally then it require medical attention. Untrated leucorrhoea may cause irritation, itching in the vaginal passage, may lead to infection and create foul odour.
