Perfect For The Pantry
I live rurally and love to try new recipes. There is nothing more frustrating than having everything but one critical item. This avocado is extremely handy for those days.It achieves a guacamole texture just by adding water and the taste is genuine. I used it this morning for an avocado dressing for slaw and it worked very well.It will always be in my pantry.

Salty and Not 100% Avocado!
I bought this product to try with my infant who is starting new foods since fresh avocados ripen and rotten so quickly. I thought this would be a great alternative. However, the front of the package says 100% haas avocado but doesn’t mention it is full of seasonings. Onion powder, garlic powder, lime, etc. it makes for a super salty and u pleasant taste. Plus for it to get the right consistency, you need to add more mix than water which just makes it more salty

A bit weird
This dehydrated avocado product isn't exactly bad if you want camping food or survival-bunker guacamole, but at the price and framed as a competitor to fresh avocados (which it definitely isn't), it seems like a pretty tough sell. Within a resealable pouch, it is mostly caked-up dry chunks rather than a loose powder, which makes measuring the volume to match with water (as specified on the package) almost impossible; I ended up adding much too much water and needing to balance it out with more dry stuff again and again. The color is attractively bright green and the flavor once mixed is closer to pure avocado than I might've expected, though it somehow seems very lacking in the rich fattiness of a typical fresh guacamole no matter how I mix it. Nothing too wrong with it, and it's fairly good for a freeze-dried food, but it's more of a burrito-filler condiment than something I'd really go for in a large portion on its own, and certainly not a real substitute for avocado toast as it claims to be. At this price, I'd definitely steer clear unless there's a very specific reason you need it to be freeze-dried.

OK replacement if you adjust your expectations
$30 for 15 servings is $2 a serving. And a serving of this doesn't necessarily equal a whole avocado or however much you're used to eating. It depends where you shop, live, and what season it is, but I can generally find fresh avocados that are a bit cheaper than this. This mix is ok if you need avocado and cant use fresh for whatever reason. It's definitely handy as it doesn't spoil like fresh avocado, nor do you have to wait for it to perfectly ripen. But it's seriously awful, and I cant figure out a reason why someone would need freeze dried avocado. The problem here is the taste is not fantastic. It's ok for a freeze dried product I suppose, but it could be better. It's definitely edible, and I don't mind it when I've got no avocados in the house. The consistency is also off. It's like baby food when I follow the directions. Instead I just eyeball it looking for the right consistency myself. It helps if you crumble up the chunks before adding water. If you leave this mixed for a few hours the taste gets even worse! It's chalky and tastes like bad avocados.

Decent Substitute for Fresh
I love avocados, especially on my toast or bagels. I'm a huge fan of fresh avocados so I was somewhat skeptical of freeze dried avocado. It turns out, this is a good alternative to fresh with a great shelf life. It's a nice back up when I don't have a fresh avocado on hand or when it's not quite ripe. While I like this dried avocado, it still doesn't compare to taste and consistency as fresh. The biggest complaint I have on this is that if you follow the directions for adding water, it ends up being too much and leaving the avocado kind of thin. I had to add a little less water and a little more dried avocado to get it to a thick enough consistency for my bagel. It also has a tiny bit of an aftertaste I wasn't expecting. Otherwise, this is a great product as it's real avocado. While it might seem expensive at first glance, I checked the price of avocados at the store at the same time I was trying this and at $2.50 per avocado, this isn't anymore expensive. Plus, this is a lot easier to control the portion size with less waste.

Unpleasant fishy taste. Extremely salty.
Inedible. Tried to mask/dilute the fishy and salty taste with tomatoes, salsa verde, other veggies, yogurt, hummus, you name it - nope, still inedible. Horrible aftertaste also. The texture, color, and appearance was fine, and it mixed easily. I suspect the avocado oil in it has gone rancid, but I just bought it.Other warning: the package says to "use in 5 days of opening" - if you're a freeze-dried fan like I am, you want your freeze-dried food to last for many months, if not years.
