Description

Principle:- The Brilliant Green Agar is selective medium for the Salmonellae species. The peptone, Tryptone, Yeast extract provides all essential nutrients and growth factors, whilst the brilliant green acts as inhibitor for majority of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This medium is selectively used for isolation of Salmonella from specimens of heavily contaminated such as feces, sewage, urine or any other materials in which Salmonella can harbor. Precautions to be taken:- These microbial media are intended for the in-vitro use only. All the handling, experiments, storage, and discarding should be performed with the help of trained and experienced technicians and as per the established guidelines. The material should be disposed only after proper serialization by autoclaving. Harmful and may cause sensitization by inhalation, irritation to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Always use protective gear while handling this medium.
