Description

Principle:- Tryptone and Soya peptone provides nitrogen, vitamins and other essential nutrition, sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance, while dextrose serves the energy source and Di-potassium phosphate buffers the media. It supports the growth of both fastidious as well as non-fastidious organisms. It also supports the growth of aerobic as well as anaerobic organisms. Directions:- Suspend 45.0 gram in 1000 ml distilled water adjust the pH if required. Boil to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 min, cool it to 42-45 °C and distribute aseptically in to the plates. Tryptic Soy Agar ensure complete solidification and inoculate aseptically.
