Description

This product hangs on the top edge of the aquarium. The pump sucks water up via a pre-filter tube that sits in the water. There is a knob for adjusting the amount of air to be added to the water. The water passes through a filter pad which includes carbon and there is room to add other media like ceramics (available in our Listings) then overflows back into the aquarium. How the Protein Skimmer works: Oxygen enters the pump chamber and is stirred by the impeller. This produces a mass of tiny bubbles which mix with water at high speed. Through the tension of the mini bubbles, protein, heavy metal elements, fibers and organic elements will be absorbed, purifying the water with the added advantage of aerating the water.
