Q: Was the ethernet removed on the new version?

Konnected's Alarm Panel Pro product has Ethernet and PoE capability -- search for that if you want Ethernet. This one is Wifi-only.

Q: Can I use this if my house is wired for an alarm… but the actual alarm panel was never installed? (Our house is a new build)

If the wires are routed to a single location and you can access those wires for termination at a panel, yes you can. This system replaces your panel, but uses the existing wiring and sensors. Are the sensors installed at windows, doors, etc? If not, you will need to install wired versions or simply move to a wireless solution and forget the wires.

Q: Do you still use existing hardwired keypad or do you have to arm/disarm with your phone?

You have to arm/disarm with your phone, using the SmartThings app. The existing keypad will no longer work.
