Product description Chamomile is a small, perennial herb with feathery leaves and daisy-like white flowers. The oil has a medium strength initial aroma and is gentle enough to use with babies and children. There are several varieties available – German, Roman and Maroc. German Chamomile essential oil is generally considered the best quality available. Compared to Roman or Maroc it has higher levels of chamazuline giving it a deeper blue colour. It is the best choice for soothing the skin and easing tension in muscles and joints. It is very potent and only a tiny amount is needed. For calming and balancing, Roman chamomile is the better choice. Chamomile Maroc is the cheapest of the oils and an economical choice where only aroma is needed. To help with measuring the tiny quantities often needed in recipes, this is also available as a 5% blend. Botanical Family: Asteraceae Indications Calming, Soothing, Relaxing. Excellent in massage for easing muscle tension. A few drops on a pillow are welcome at night, especially in combination with lavender. Also useful for relaxing from heightened emotions, in stressful situations and when feeling sad, angry or irritable. In skin preparations it is especially suited to very sensitive and easily irritated skin types.
