Great for board gamers of the casual to intermediate variety
Recommended for:- Casual to intermediate players (i.e., people who like Splendor/Ticket to Ride, but may not enjoy Terra Mystica)- People who are new to board games aside from Monopoly- Siblings who can sit still for rules that are literally just one big piece of paper folded in half- People who want to get a game started and finished within 45 minutes to an hour (if they don't know the rules)- People who want to get a game started and finished within 30 minutes (if they do know the rules)This is one of my favorite games to teach! I've gotten so many plays out of this and people at work have enjoyed it and ask me to bring it in weekly. If you have a group of players that enjoy a more challenging game but are still fairly casual, this is the game to pick up. I've observed that the more casual players tend to pick up pieces very quickly, as they've analyzed what they wanted and generally have an idea of what they want to do. The more hardcore gamers will find that this game can be extremely AP-inducing; they will look at everyone else's board and pore over what the best strategy would be to both make their city the best while also making sure their rivals haven't picked up on a better strategy. I've found that the hardcore folks would rather play something else. This is a very min-max kind of game. It's great fun without being overly complicated. The concept is simple enough, and there are videos online if you're unsure how to explain a certain rule. You build a bunch of different buildings, and depending on how you arranged it in your city, you'll score a certain number of victory points. I've only ever played the classic side, but there is also an expert side if you flip the pieces over. One day!

A Light, Fun City Building Game the Family can Enjoy!!
Wow, this is a heavy box! We unboxed it, my daughter and I, and there are thick cardboard pieces. The artwork is very nice, and the quality of the components are top notch. There are two game play modes: Classic and Expert.Classic is the beginner's game, and we played it. It's easy enough for grade school children, like my daughter, and teaches rules and decision making, and competitive, yet fun game play. It's fun building your own city, and this game does just that for us. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Game, Great Concepts, Easy to Learn
This game is very enjoyable. I've also played Suburbia and most of my friends actually preferred this even though on most reviews it's lower on the list. I like that it takes some strategy and every game is different! Very entertaining and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys city building games. Directions were easy to understand and picked up the game quick. Plus I LOVE that it has the slots for all the pieces, I don't have to buy an insert like I do with some games.

Short playtime, simple rules, multiple scoring options
Quadropolis is a point-salad game in which you build a city on a personal 4x4 grid with different types of buildings that provide a variety of ways to score points. Buildings are drafted from a central 5x5 grid using architects numbered 1 through 4. Placing an architect next to a row or column allows you to take a building matching that number's distance from the architect, which you then must place in a row or column of your personal city grid, also matching the number of the architect you used. Some simple resource management is involved, as certain buildings provide you with citizens, and others provide you with energy units. These are required to activate your buildings in order to score them, and you lose points for any excess at the end of the game. Scores are tallied on a pad similar to 7 Wonders, Five Tribes, Agricola, etc. The basic game plays in about 15 minutes per player. The expert variant (all components included in the box) requires an additional round of play, and also has a more challenging city grid and buildings not used in the basic game.Shorter duration and simple mechanics initially disguise the depth of the game, but after playing once, you immediately realize what you could have done better. Of course, like many similar games, you can't get everything, so you develop a strategy around trying to get a lot of points from just a few sources. There is no hidden information, so you can always see how other players are setting up to win, but playing to block others isn't always a good idea unless you are able to get the building you want in the process. If you own other Days of Wonder games, you know you are getting great quality components. In this case, lots of building tiles from thick punchboard, plus several small plastic meeples and energy tokens. The plastic insert for this game is well-designed to easily sort and secure everything. Artwork is vibrant and colorful. I think Quadropolis is a very good midweight strategy game, but like similar games, it can feel like take-your-turn-and-wait group solitaire, especially if any players are prone to analysis paralysis. The expert version can be even more aggravating in this regard, because you play with a common pool of architects instead of 4 of your own. It's one more decision to fret over as a trade-off for more building options and complexity. For this reason, I think I prefer the more interactive Cargo Noir. Five Tribes takes longer and has a heftier rule book, but is more thematic. I would definitely play Quadropolis over those others if I only have an hour to play a game and want something a little brainy.

Great game, lots of fun, quite puzzly
This is a great game, and I am enjoying playing it a lot. It's very puzzlely and has two modes for more options. It plays well at 2 and at 4 players.

My friends and I love this game and play it regularly
This game is a blast. Days of Wonder always knocks it out of the park as far as quality and simplicity, and they did not fail here. My only "gripe" would be that the artwork looks a bit app-like which may turn some people off initially. My friends and I love this game and play it regularly.

Fun game. Pretty simple
Fun game. Pretty simple. We played it a bunch and it's not complex enough to still hold my attention. Don't play it much anymore.

Cool Game
cool game. Lots of rules but once you get into it it's pretty easy to understand. The theme is very cute. Some pieces came misprinted and when I contacted the company they quickly sent me a replacement! :)

Recomendado

Simple but with more depth and fun than expected!
This has kept our attention over several games nights in a row and we are already talking about playing it again. It's nice and simple to pick up, with a classic mode to get you going, or to play with younger children (Age 8+ ideally) and you can move on to expert mode fairly quickly. We have also now splashed out on the public services expansion but we want to play without it a few more times before we crack that open. As a big fan of computer games such as sim city in my youth, this game theme immediately appealed to me and the artwork is great fun and eye catching. The game play is quite simple but you do have multiple strategy options that you can choose from (harbours, residential tower blocks, industry, commercial etc). You always feel that you could have done with an extra couple of goes to make the most of your strategy, as you are limited to collecting 4 tiles each round, but that is where the skill lies - in making the most of the few goes that you get! Your strategy can also be thwarted by your opponents if they happen to take a tile that you are after, so you have to be ready to adapt and think on your feet too. We have played both 2 player and 3 player so far. The more players that you have the more tiles are available, which changes the dynamics slightly as people have the potential to push their chosen strategies further, although there is potentially more competition for those tiles too! We have been really impressed by the scoring mechanisms as we have all taken various strategies and the scoring each time has been very close, especially on classic mode - we have even tied on one occasion. We're really enjoying this. It only takes an hour to play tops and is providing far more depth and fun than we had anticipated!

Gran juego a un gran precio
Juego familiar muy divertido a un precio magnífico. El juego está en ingles, pero es completamente independiente del idioma y por internet se puede aprender a jugar. Muy recomendable.

Great board game for the whole family
I have played Quadropolis a couple of times now and I can say that it's a challenging game. Once you try to figure out a strategy you hope that other players do not get in the way picking the buildings of your choice. You have to keep adjusting your strategy during the game to get the most points in the end. I have not played the expert version yet, but I think it will be great too. The quality of the materials is good (as expected). Our 6 years old son has been playing as well (with a little help) and he managed quite well, so it tuned out to be a great board game for the whole family!
