Enjoy Raw Chocolate was founded by me (Chris) and my wife Steph. We are a husband and wife team on a mission to make great tasting chocolate without the ingredients that can cause negative reactions. We want to bring the joy of eating fabulous chocolate to everyone! This mission is driven by our love and enjoyment of chocolate combined with my food allergies/intolerances including dairymilk/lactose, gluten, soya and certain nuts. However, we didn't want to make "free from" chocolate as we knew it - by simply substituting ingredients to make tolerable products that taste just "ok". Instead we wanted to prioritise taste, texture and sensation, selecting the ingredients that would maximise the enjoyment and experience. To help with this we knew we need an expert who knows ingredients and flavour design. Luckily we found Tyrone, now Enjoy's chocolatier and Product Director. Tyrone is a Michelin Star trained pastry chef, having completed his training in France. His knowledge and creativity combined with the rest of our brilliant team, have helped bring our vision and mission to life. Helping us create incredible tasting chocolates, that are also gluten, soya and dairy-free. All of our products are made in the UK, based on 3 pure ,100% organic ingredients; raw cacao powder, raw cacao butter and coconut sugar. We use raw rather than roasted cocoa. Raw is heated at a much lower temperature, keeping in more flavour, nutrients and using less energy! Our coconut sugar (actually more expensive than cane sugar!) has a more subtle smooth taste that helps us build flavours. It's also more sustainable, yielding 50-70% more sugar per acre than sugar cane, whilst using 20% less water! Approved as Vegan by the Vegan Society, certified as Organic by the Soil Association and we have food safety certification (by the UK's Safe And Local Supplier Approval - SALSA), as licensed by the Food Standards Agency.
