Product description As the world-record holder for the most fiction books sold, it’s no surprise that Agatha Christie has always been interested in literature. When she was aged just 5 she taught herself to read and became inspired by the works of the authors she admired. Her fascination with storytelling grew as she did and in 1920 her first novel ‘The Mysterious Affair At Styles’ was published for the world to read. To mark the 100th Anniversary of this gripping novel, The Royal Mint have released a special commemorative Brilliant Uncirculated £2 Coin in honour of the ‘Queen of Crime’. The reverse features a picture puzzle design which was described by David Lawrence (the coins designer) as “the best metaphor . . . the story is gradually pieced together but it is not until the final missing piece is dropped into place that the whole picture can be seen”. The compelling design also features scattered clues and is authenticated with Agatha’s signature.
