Calliandra 'Dixie Pink' ornamental trees present large watermelon-pink, fluffy flowers which resemble giant powder puffs - this is where they get the nickname 'Powder Puff'. The blooms emerge from a white centre which adds to their characteristic appearance. Furthermore, the trees grow to be very fragrant, which will attract various bees, butterflies and other pollinating wildlife to your garden. The foliage of the tree is just as attractive with their flushed pink, feathery leaves when emerging which turn to dark green once matured. Being a native South American plant, Calliandra trees love being out in the sun, and are best grown in full sun or partial shaded locations. Over the Winter period, it is recommended to move the tree inside to a greenhouse or conservatory.
