Q: Will it suck up most dry, loose dirt? I'd use it on artificial grass + gravel driveway. A goal is to suck up loose dirt so weeds can't grow as easily.

This tool was a disappointment. It does not pick up much and it does not roll forward on less than perfectly smooth surfaces. Dirt that is picked up blows back out the bag mesh. Try something else.

Q: what country is it made in ?

I don't know. The leaf bag tears easily, from any small stone. First time used tore, but on cement paving works great.

It looks like the replacement bag is out of stock just about everywhere. I would call the Sun Joe Store to see if they are still making those and if you could be put on a waiting or alert list when available.

Q: Will I look stupid vacuuming my lawn?

It is clumsy moving forward on my lawn. Worked better being pulled over the leaves on the lawn. I found this vacuum best for clean up after edging the lawn at the sidewalk. Do not expect this tool to be the answer to your dreams. If you have a heavy leaf fall on the lawn you will be better using a rake.
