A Kumquat resembles an orange, but is typically no larger than an olive. Indigenous to Southeast Asia and China, they were first introduced into Europe in 1848. The fruit is eaten whole, skin and all. Kumquats have a citrus-like flavor that can be used in a wide range of beverage formulations and pairs nicely with hops that impart a citrus character. Our flavor can be used as a one for one replacement in any recipe that calls for either orange or lemon extract.
