The ApeX Type A 4mA is a fully analog tDCS System with an integrated current meter and non-linear power adjustment controls. The Integrated Analog Meter allows for instantaneous, zero-latency monitoring of the current flow levels for safety and comfort. How do you know if your device is delivering less (or worse, more) power than needed without a meter? The short answer is you don’t. Here are the two main reasons why a tDCS device MUST have an integrated meter: POWER TOO LOW: tDCS depends on your device being able to cut through the natural body resistance, which varies throughout the day and is affected by your body’s PH, skin products, conditioner, hair volume, etc. If the resistance is too high a tDCS device may not be able to deliver the full amount of stimulation needed. It could be completely blocked from doing so. POWER TOO HIGH: Cheaply made software-controlled devices could malfunction (from a software bug, firmware issue, physical damage from dropping etc,) and that may cause them to send MORE power than needed. If you buy a tDCS device without a meter, you must blindly trust EVERYTHING is working exactly perfectly, that someone wrote the software perfectly the first time and that nothing goes wrong with it for however many years you use it on yourself. At ApeX, we do not take such risks. The simplicity of the Type A’s analog circuit design means the most robust tDCS System on the market. We consider tDCS a Mission Critical application, where no amount of safety is too much. The power regulation on the Type A is hardwired in, which cannot be tampered with. The very physical and chemical properties of the components used prevent the Type A from malfunctioning. With the ApeX Type A 4 mA, you will always know you are getting the stimulation you need, no more nor less. It is the only one of its kind on the market, hand-made, assembled and tested in the USA. If you are serious about tDCS, you should get the ApeX Type A tDCS System.
