Baader Hyperion eyepieces - make more of your telescope. Most telescopes come with one or two simple eyepieces in the set, which do not excite the performance of the optics. Moderate contrast and sharpness, small field of view and poor insight behaviour quickly spoil the fun of sky observation. With Hyperion eyepieces, on the other hand, you can get everything out of your telescope. The complete range of high quality Hyperion eyepieces contains all major focal lengths and offers a wealth of combination possibilities. With matching accessories, you will experience unforgettable hours observing a wide range of celestial bodies. The special thing about Hyperion eyepieces: they are suitable for photos! Capture your astro impressions forever by connecting cameras and camcorders to the Hyperion eyepieces! You can distinguish between the series with "fixed focal lengths" f = 3.5 mm, 5 mm, 8 mm, 13 mm, 17 mm, 21 mm, 24 mm, the two large aspherical eyepieces 31 mm and 36 mm as well as the Hyperion Zoom eyepiece with infinitely variable focal length from 8 to 24 mm. An accessory case is in preparation for the seven Hyperion fixed focal length eyepieces The "fixed focal lengths" series of Hyperion eyepieces The word fixed focal length is in quotation marks in this short description, because you as a user are able to change the focal length due to the modular design of the eyepieces. The fixed focal lengths Hyperion eyepieces are multifunctional eyepieces. WIDE APPLICATIONS: Connecting cameras and camcorders The Hyperion eyepieces have two system threads at the top ("eye-side"). To expose them, either the eyecup and/or the large silicone thread protection ring must be removed. On the one hand, it is an M43 male thread and still a second with SP54 male thread. The M43 thread (system thread 1) is used to connect T2 accessories, e.g. for normal eyepiece projection. For this purpose, a transition ring (Hyperion M43/T-2) from M34 to T2 thread must be switched between them. For connecting digital cameras or camcorders where the lens cannot be removed (so-called afocal projection), the SP 54 thread (system thread 2) is used. Focal length variability and filter insert The Hyperion eyepieces can be opened on the M48 (filter) thread at the top of the chrome-plated 1¼" eyepiece receptacle. In the plug-in sleeve is the first lens group, it is unscrewed together with the plug-in sleeve and the eyepiece is connected directly to the telescope in a 2 inch eyepiece clamp, you get an overview eyepiece with long focal length and maximum field of view. By inserting a 2" filter between 2" and 1¼" plug-in sleeve the opposite effect results: the focal length becomes shorter and thus the magnification higher. Furthermore, astronomical 1¼ inch eyepiece filters can be screwed into the 1¼ inch socket of the eyepiece. For further focal length modification, there are our finetuning rings (FTR) with 14 and 28 mm length. The different possible focal lengths when removing the first lens group as well as in combination with filters and fine tuning rings can be found in the table above. Stop ring (model no. 2958097) Another "smart" accessory for our Hyperion eyepieces is the stop ring. It allows you to set the insertion depth of the eyepieces so that each eyepiece immediately gives a sharp image when inserted into a 2" diagonal mirror. Due to the fullness of functionality, the Baader Hyperion eyepieces have their own 6-sided instruction manual to explain the variety of connection options of cameras and all the possibilities of focal length finetuning. Hyperion fixed focal length eyepieces on Zeiss Diascope spotting scope. The Hyperion fixed focal length eyepieces can also be used on Zeiss Diascope spotting scopes. For this you need the BAADER Diascope eyepiece bayonet 1¼" adapter (model no. 2454500) for connecting 1¼" astro eyepieces to the Zeiss Diascope spotting scopes. It is pushed over the 1¼ inch receptacle of the Hyperion eyepiece and fixed to the plug-in sleeve by means of 3 small clamping screws. On the diascope spotting scope, the Zeiss bayonet connection is ready, so that the complete unit Hyperion eyepiece and Baader bayonet adapter are inserted directly into the Zeiss spotting scope
