Rose ‘Golden Showers’ has long been a firm favourite in UK gardens, having won a prestigious RHS AGM it’s well known for its impressive and reliable garden performance and unfussy nature. This beautiful climbing rose has a neat growing habit, which makes it ideal for training to trellis on a fence or wall, and also it’s just the right size for growing on a pergola or garden arch. Repeat flowering with abundant sprays of rich golden-yellow blooms, you can expect continuous colour and structure from this rose throughout the summer months, then returning for a repeat show year after year.Plant bare-root roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole. Stems of climbing roses will require training against a suitable support such as a pergola, fence or wall.Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In late summer begin pruning climbing roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged stems. For the first two years the remaining stems should be trained horizontally on wires.Position: Full Sun/Partial ShadeHeight: Up to 3m when fully establishedSpread: Up to 2m when fully establishedSupplied as 2 x Climbing Rose ‘Golden Showers’ bare root plants.Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
